Arlington Public Schools (APS)
- Elementary students who were initially eligible for summer school but are unable to participate will receive online instruction through programs such as Virtual Virginia. Lessons from Lexia and Dreambox will be offered in addition to those programs.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
- The Fairfax County School Board has approved the fiscal year 2022 budget. It will prioritize resources for students’ academic and social-emotional needs and increased technology support.
- Any student who received special education services, turned 22 during the current school year, and is expected to complete high school in spring 2021 has the option to attend high school for the 2021–2022 school year as a temporary extension of special education. This will be done through a Post-Secondary Advancement Plan (PSAP). This is not a proposal of a Free and Appropriate Public Education or an extension of the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) because the student has reached the maximum age of eligibility.
