Alexandria City Public Schools
- The Alexandria City School Board approved the Virtual PLUS+ model for the fall, which will include:
- At least 30–45 minutes of synchronous instruction per subject for all schools
- Social, Emotional, and Academic Learning (SEAL) lessons
- Opportunities for students to build relationships
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
- FCPS has announced the virtual school day schedules for their students, which will operate similarly to before the closure.
- High schools: 8:10 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. ET
- Middle schools: 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. ET
- Elementary schools will vary, but individual schools will release their start and end times shortly.
Falls Church City Public Schools (FCCPS)
- FCCPS is working on their online/virtual model for the fall. It will include:
- New and graded instruction
- Required attendance
- Five days of instruction
- Scheduled social-emotional lessons, activities, and check-ins
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS)
- LCPS has provided more detailed information about their plans for the fall. They are still subject to change as LCPS continues to finalize plans.
- Students will interact in synchronous instruction with their teachers from Tuesday through Friday and will have asynchronous instruction on Monday.
- There will be sample bell schedules for each school level.
Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS)
- SCPS has announced that middle and high school students will receive four days of synchronous instruction and one day of asynchronous instruction. Elementary students will receive synchronous instruction two days and three days of asynchronous instruction.
- On asynchronous instruction days, teachers will have various types of lessons available to include pre-recorded video lessons, performance tasks, and differentiated resources.
- SCPS will host a Town Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020 for parents of children with disabilities, English language learners, and children in focus programs.
- Submit questions for the meeting no later than noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
