Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
- ACPS is asking families how they would like to see the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) grant funding used. The purpose of these funds is to help reopen and safely operate schools and address any COVID-19 impacts. ACPS asks that families submit their input by June 18, 2021.
- A public hearing on the plan to use ESSER funds will be held in August.
Arlington Public Schools (APS)
- APS intends to return to normal operations in the fall, with five days of in-person school a week for all those who selected in-person learning.
- Those who selected the virtual learning program will attend online five days a week.
- APS plans to offer a series of return-to-school town halls for families in August. They will explain what to expect in the new year from both in-person and online learning.
- Families will have certain times throughout the year to change their preferred learning model (in-person or online).
- Elementary families will be able to make a change before the start of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters.
- Secondary families will be able to make a change before the start of the second semester. Specific dates will be shared at a later date.
Prince William County Schools (PWCS)
- PWCS is asking families for input as to how the ESSER funds should be used. They ask that the ARP ESSER survey be completed by June 18, 2021.
