Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
- On June 26, 2020, ACPS will share an overview of their plans with the board about how they will be reopening and moving forward.
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
- FCPS staff presented preliminary recommendations for the 2020-2021 school year to the Fairfax County School Board on Monday, June 15. They proposed three potential scenarios:
- A virtual start: Virtual distance learning for everyone.
- Reopening with health and social distance protocols in effect: Schools reopen with buildings at 25–50% capacity, new health and safety protocols, and potentially new schedules. In-school instruction may be prioritized to special education students, English language learners, or grades K–2.
- Fridays would be in-person support days for students with Individualized Education Programs, English language learners, or other students in need of specific additional supports.
- Online learning by need: Alternative instructional delivery for students opting out of in-school instruction (e.g., Online Campus or Virtual Virginia), which may be implemented with either of the above scenarios.
- FCPS is hoping to reach a plan by June 26.
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS)
- LCPS is considering an approach in which students attend school in-person twice a week and distance learning three times a week.
